From Haiti to NYC, Those in Need Live in Tents

When I first saw this story it reminded me of the tent cities in Haiti that are home to countless earthquake victims. It's about a NYC High School Principal and his students who are living in tents to win money to help their school. It's a Kohl's contest. Help out by casting your vote at www.eschs.org. St. Lucian Soccer Star Shot Dead

A St. Lucian soccer star in New York for a tournament was shot to death in Brooklyn Monday, hours after scoring a goal that sent his team to the finals, police sources said. Isidore Phillip Tisson, 27, was shot in a car outside a Crown Heights cafe around 4:25 a.m. where he’d stopped after leaving a nightclub where the team celebrated. When Tisson climbed back into the car, an unknown gunman approached from behind, and opened fire. Experts doubt the health benefits of a now trendy island staple: coconut water

Found this interesting article on HuffingtonPost.com about one of my favorite island treats, coconut water. It’s become very trendy and expensive) these days. That’s crazy to me since I drank coconut water about two weeks ago in Haiti straight from the coconut and one hundred percent organic. The price: free. Just had to ask a kid to climb a coconut tree and get it for me... Marlie
